Concept Note
Gender-based violence (GBV) is a prevalent type of human rights violations that affects women and girls physically and mentally. It is regarded as both health and social problems. Walailak University is organizing an international conference on the Impact of Frontier Research in the Digital Era, to be held on campus, the 26th – 27th March 2020. In this conference, our third platform track entitle “Gender-based violence: social and health system”. The major point of discussion considers future directions in the field of gender studies, healthcare and its related system, legal and justice service, and gender-based violence in digital age. Our two panels are intended to address and examine the very implications of the term gender-based violence that is perpetrated against a person, especially woman, girl and transgender. It includes acts that inflict physical, sexual or mental harm or suffering, threats of such acts, coercion and other deprivations of liberty.
