This research study analyzing relating variables affecting the development of income-generating activities of the rural women in order to formulate an appropriate policy guidelines for income-generating programme development which will lead to the improvement of the quality of life of the rural women and their families.
Findings indicated that there were fore major factors affecting the development of the rural women income-generating activities. They were:
      1. Basic infrastructural factors based on
      – Social-cultural background of the communities Economic Community-Based Environment and natural resource conditions of the community
      2. Impacts of major support mechanism, under the circumstances of weak supports, programmes of activities would not be feasible.
      – Inefficient and /or disorganized women organizations
      – Selection of programme of activities unresponsive to the problems and needs of the target groups.
      – Ineffective programme of training activities inappropriate duration of training unsuitable syllabus and ineffective method of transferring skills development.
      – Lack of tools and equipment. – Lack of revolving fund.
      – Insufficient market promotion affecting sales of products unsold could not bring any income.
      – Inefficient means of monitoring and evaluation process resulting in a lack of feedback for corrective and adjustable measures for programme improvement
      3. Factors affection the decision-making process of women participate in the activities were: -Socio-cultural, economic, environmental and natural resource base of the community formulating pattern of lifestyles of rural women were basic factors affecting their decision-making. – Under the conditions of unclear guidelines relating to the major support mechanism, i,c., women organization, selection of activities, training equipment, revolving fund, market system, monitoring and evaluation process, it would result in limited choice of alternatives for participation. -Uninterested programme, unresponsive to conditions and needs of the rural women and their community. – Inappropriate approaches and strategies of implementation conflicting the styles of work among government officials and community leaders. – Constraints of rural women in education, access to information, poverty and time.

Impacts of income-generation activities and participation the community development were very significant. If there were no significant change in income, there would the no impact upon social acceptance and in the improvement of living conditions which would Yield to no benefits in participating in income-generation activities
