Center of Excellence for Ecoinformatics, School of Science, Walailak University and SEAMEO STEM Ed centre organised the STEM Learning Materials Using Infographic Tool during 18-19 February 2023. There are 116 participants from 24 Thai schools participating in this workshop.
Associate Professor Dr. Krisanadej Jaroensutasinee (Director for CoE for Ecoinformatics) and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Mullica Jaroensutasinee (Dean of the School of Science) at Walailak University, revealed the issue of STEM Learning Materials Using Infographic Tool was essential for teachers to use in their active learning classroom approach.
“At the Center of Excellence for Ecoinformatics, School of Science, we have been involved in teaching professional development courses. In this workshop, teachers were trained to do infographics and able to use the infographics in their teaching and learning. Students would be very engaging in their learning process. In this workshop, we chose to do the Bio-Circular-Green Economy as a workshop theme” said Dean Mullica.
“To achieve the ambitions of STEM Learning Materials Using Infographic Tool workshop, we used a five-design thinking process: Empathise, Define, Ideate, Prototype, and Test: Infographic Theme Bio-Circular-Green Economy (BCG). Both teachers and students were coming up with great infographics during this three-day workshop. It is truly amazing” Director Krisanadej said.
The online training course at Walailak University has 116 teachers and students from all regions in Thailand, attending via Google Meet. The diverse group of participants includes 24 schools e.g. Kanlayanee Si Thammarat School, Kanchana Nukhro School, Bueng Khong Long Witthayakhom School, Map Amarit Wittaya School, and etc. There were two schools from Nakhon Si Thammarat Province attending our training onsite: Pak Phanang school and Banpangpring school. To receive an e-certificate, participants must attend at least 80% of the course and complete a post-evaluation demonstrating their application of the knowledge gained.
