The Inter-Asia Cultural Studies project
From March 26th to March 29th,.Prof. Dr. Audrey Yue from National University of Singapore, who is the chair of the Inter-Asia Cultural Studies Society, came to see how the Center for Geosocial and Cultural Research for Sustainable Development could help with the IACS 2025 seminar. Exploring many places both inside and outside the university made an impression, and we will continue to create collaborations before the conference in the next 2 years. Since the late 1990s, the Inter-Asia Cultural Studies project has worked towards the imagination and possibilities of diverse forms of intellectual integration in Asia. The Inter-Asia Cultural Studies Society was then formed in 2004 in response to the growing demand from younger intellectuals to expand the scope and scale of IACS activities, and has organized conferences in Peking (2007), Tokyo (2009), Dhaka (2011), Singapore (2013), Surabaya (2015), Seoul (2017), Dumaguete (2019), Singapore (2021), and Ahmedabad (2023).
