Article Title:“Nutritional Status, Abdominal Obesity, and Predictors of BMI Categories Among Community-Dwelling Older Adults in Southern Thailand: A Cross-Sectional Study”

Key Research Highlights & Public Health Impact:

Addressing the double burden of malnutrition and abdominal obesity in an aging population is a vital public health challenge. Based on a large community study of over 13,000 older adults across 20 sub-districts in Southern Thailand, this research identifies key biological, socio-economic, and behavioral factors influencing BMI and abdominal obesity. The findings provide strong evidence to guide primary healthcare systems in implementing routine nutritional screening and designing risk-stratified, culturally tailored interventions for elderly health promotion.
