Dr. Atthaphon Konyanee, a researcher at the Center of Excellence in Tropical Pathobiology, Walailak University, visited Universiti Sains Malaysia from 7-12 September 2025 to establish research collaboration. This visit was supported by Walailak University under the “WU International Mobility for Publication and Collaboration program”.
The collaboration aims to advance research on Drug Discovery from Natural Products using Computer-Aided Drug Design (CADD) techniques, in partnership with a team of experts led by Professor Dr. Habibah A. Wahab, Deputy Vice-Chancellor for Research and Innovation, and Dr. Ezatul Ezleen Kamarulzaman of the School of Pharmaceutical Sciences. The discussions led to plans for joint research publications, the development of novel antimalarial drug candidates, and the establishment of a framework for future student and faculty exchanges between the two institutions.
