Dr. Phakkawat Thangwong participated in the Society for Neuroscience (SfN) Annual Meeting 2025 held in San Diego, USA

          From 15 – 19 November 2025, Dr. Phakkawat Thangwong, a faculty member of the Center of Excellence in Tropical Pathobiology, attended the Society for Neuroscience (SfN) Annual Meeting 2025 in San Diego, California, USA. SfN is one of the world’s premier international conferences in neuroscience, gathering educators, researchers, and experts worldwide to share research findings, exchange knowledge, and present the latest advancements in the field.

          During the conference, Dr. Phakkawat participated as a Poster Presenting Author, presenting his research titled “Protective effects of apocynin on vascular dysfunction and remodeling in a rat model of vascular dementia.” The study examines the therapeutic potential of apocynin, an NADPH oxidase inhibitor in improving vascular abnormalities and structural remodeling in an animal model of vascular dementia.

          His participation in this global academic forum provided a valuable opportunity to expand expertise, exchange scientific perspectives, and establish research networks with international scholars. The knowledge and experience gained from this event will be applied to enhance future research and teaching within the School of Medicine, thereby strengthening the academic and professional development of its personnel and students in alignment with international standards.
