Prof. Dr. Charuai Suwanbamrung and co-authors
We are pleased to extend our sincere congratulations on the publication of the research article entitled
“Barriers and Facilitators of Compliance with Iron-Folic Acid Supplementation Among Pregnant Women in Southern Afghanistan: A Qualitative Study”
This article has been published in Patient Preference and Adherence, a journal ranked Q1 with a Percentile of 81.
This qualitative study explored the barriers and facilitators influencing compliance with iron-folic acid supplementation among pregnant women in Southern Afghanistan. The findings showed that adherence was shaped by interconnected individual, health system, and community-level factors, including perceived health benefits, social support, self-efficacy, supplement availability, forgetfulness, side effects, transportation constraints, affordability, and sociocultural beliefs.
The study highlights the need for integrated interventions that combine behavioral strategies, strengthened health system capacity, and culturally sensitive approaches to improve maternal health and promote adherence to iron-folic acid supplementation.
Congratulations on this important academic achievement.
