Asst.Prof.Dr. Panatda Pibul

My name is Panatda Pibul, and I have a Ph.D. in environmental technology. I am a faculty member at the School of Allied Health and Public Health, before transitioning to the School of Public Health at Walailak University. I have been teaching at the university since 2002, dedicating my career to the fields of environmental science and public health. My academic journey began with a bachelor’s degree in public health (occupational health and safety) from Mahidol University, followed by a master’s degree in environmental technology from the same institution.
At Walailak University, I teach a range of courses related to environmental health and waste management. Beyond teaching, I am actively involved in academic research, focusing primarily on environmental pollution, waste management, and public health.
My research primarily addresses the fields of sustainable waste management and environmental health. One of my notable studies examines the ecological risks associated with waste electrical and electronic equipment (WEEE) from repair and junk shops, which has informed local environmental policies and improved waste management practices. Additionally, I have conducted research on agrochemical waste management among small-scale durian farmers, which offers practical strategies for reducing packaging waste in agricultural communities. Another key publication explores the anaerobic digestion of market waste, demonstrating the potential for waste-to-energy technologies and sustainable organic waste management.
In summary, my research journey is about wanting to commit to research that focuses on sustainable waste management practices to mitigate environmental pollution and climate change and improve community health outcomes. Fostering the next generation of environmental scientists is essential for addressing emerging challenges in public health and sustainability.
